The world of plastic packaging is constantly moving.
Our products are more and more complex, numerous, have shorter life-cycles and have to adapt to multiple criteria.
Because a total recycling of plastic packaging is not always possible, KNAUF Industries works on developing effective biodegradable products.
With Knauf Green, the new product range, KNAUF Industries offers 100% biodegradable thermoforming and plastic injection solutions.
Two offers were developed and are now available:
The “100% plant” range is made of PLA and comes from cereal starch, which is a renewable resource.
This transparent bioplastic gives us the opportunity to develop 100% biodegradable and compostable plastic packaging on our existing production units.
All these products meet the standard EN 13432.
The oxo-biodegradable range is made of plastic additives that are totally degradable. As they are not toxic, they are directly integrated in our basic resins and then transformed with our traditional equipments.
They don’t represent any danger for the flora, fauna or the environment. This technology has the advantage that it preserves the technical, mechanical and physical performances of traditional plastics.
